Training and advanced training in the field of "solar technology"

Knowledge is the greatest gift of mankind. It is therefore a matter of heart to share our knowledge with local people. Our vision is to provide people in Africa with direct access to electricity and water. Among other things, we want to achieve this by not only installing completed solar systems, but also by creating sustainable structures through education. Only those who establish a solid foundation from the outset will be successful in the long term.

Training of local specialists

A solar project is only as strong and sustainable as those who run it in the long term. Therefore, it is important to us that every participant in a particular project has understood its fundamentals. In basic courses before and during the project implementation, we train those who will later be responsible for the project. We adapt to the individual needs of the participants and build on existing knowledge. In our "Basic Solar Training" course, we provide tailor-made training for the skills required by local people to ensure that your solar project will continue to be successful in the future and can develop its benefits in the long term.

Training of Trainers

In order to spread knowledge about a topic to as many people as possible, it is crucial to first educate those who can pass on their knowledge locally on a permanent basis. External experts cannot and should not do this, but they can establish basic standards and create the basis for long-term and independent capacity building within the framework of "Training of Trainers". In this programme, we train trainers and lecturers in numerous projects, who in turn can then instruct other people. In doing so, we use an individual concept with understandable, high-quality teaching materials and modern methods. Our approaches are very practical, whenever possible in combination with real solar installations.

Education network"Solartechnik"

In cooperation with fellow NGOs and the Universities of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe and Lucerne (CH), we have been working for years on establishing a university education network and have developed a Solar Competence Center at the Ethiopian universities of Arba Minch, Debre Markos and, in future, Hawassa. Regular solar training sessions are held by European experts and local lecturers there, which are aimed at students, university staff and representatives of NGOs or authorities. In addition, solar equipment is available for demonstration and teaching purposes and rural solar projects are planned and supervised in cooperation with the respective university.
